Contactless card transactions continue to rise but ATM use falls 11%, says Bank of Ireland

The number of contactless card transactions has continued to rise while the number of ATM transactions falling by around 11%, figures from Bank of Ireland for the second quarter of the year show.

The bank's data showed contactless card transactions - digital wallets, Apple Pay/Google Pay - increased by 2%, whilst contactless ‘tap and go’ payment levels remained the same compared to the equivalent period in 2024.Â
